Unichem is the leading Slovene company producing high-quality products for the care and protection of plants, with the special focus on ecological gardening and effective protection of living spaces against insects, mice and rats.

Unichem is also highly active as an exporter – it export into most of the European countries, as well as the US and some Asian, African and South American countries. Unichem d.o.o. was founded in 1989 by Mile Radivojević, a graduate of chemical engineering, as the first private company to produce garden and home products that are based on its own development and production services. He led it for almost 30 years until his retirement, and today Unichem is a modern, well-equipped company, technologically and information-wise, that has registered products in over 60 countries around the world and is the leading Slovenian manufacturer of plant nutrition and protection products (organic fertilizers, substrates, special fertilizers and organic plant protection agents) and protection agents against insects and rodents (insecticides and rodenticides). In foreign markets, especially in 5 countries where it has subsidiaries (Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland), it occupies an important market place. In almost 34 years of growth, Unichem significantly increased revenues and the share of exports in total sales, which is now over 70%.
The quality of business operations and the developmental drive is ensured by all employees, of whom there are currently 150 in the company at home and abroad. The company is distinguished by its young and educated team of experts (agronomists, chemists, machinists, psychologists, lawyers, economists, etc.). The company has also significantly increased its range of products, currently over 250, and they are rounded off by the highly recognisable brands Plantella and Bio Plantella as well as Effect and Ratimor.
Unichem is especially known for the unique GAIA Club with the GAIA magazine with over 50,000 amateur gardeners – members and followers of the club – and, of course, for our websites: the Unichem company in the Slovenian and English language versions and 5 languages of subsidiary companies: plantella.si, plantella.hr, ratimor-effect-pestcontrol.com, klubgaia.com. For its efforts in developing organic products under the BIO PLANTELLA brand, the company received numerous awards at the national level.
